Just after midnight station 52 was dispatched to the area of Exit 16 west for either a tractor trailer on fire or an accident with the truck over the hill into a creek. Chief 52 got on scene to find a tractor trailer that went up an embankment into some trees with the driver still inside bleeding from the head. Chief started further then reported 2 patients in the truck and requested a 2nd Ambulance. And also reported 1 of the saddle tanks ripped of the truck and the other tank leaking. Engine 52-2 arrived on scene and was told to set up scene lighting and pull a protective hand line. Firefighters alone with EMS crews removed both patients from the truck and placed into the back off the ambulance.
Station 52 remained on scene till about 2am State Police, Haz-Mat and the tow service remained on scene several hours until the truck was removed and the fuel cleaned up.
